SKYPE in the geography classroom

Students were able to have a video conversation with a man (my son) who lived in the Amazon Rainforest for two years (and now lives in New York City.)

We projected him on the classroom screen. He talked to the students about Brazil, then they asked him questions.

Here is a link to more information related to the Billy Joel song "We didn't start the fire." This link has internet links to all the pictures. I posted the link to the song/video that we watched in Ed Tech on our family web site, and my sister posted this link in return.

This site would also be a real resource for teaching about resources--because it goes all over (not just wikipedia). For example, for "Lawrence of Arabia" is links to the IMDB site.

Also, most of my grown kids commented that teachers they had in high school used the song for activities--such as having students write a couple more verses.
